Immusoft Awarded $15 Million in Funding from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
Immusoft received a $15 million grant from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine to support clinical development of its engineered B cell therapy, ISP-001, for mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I).
ISP-001 is designed to use a patient’s own engineered B cells to continuously produce the enzyme IDUA, which is deficient in patients with this rare and life-threatening genetic disorder. Early Phase 1/2 clinical data show favorable safety and tolerability, and CEO Sean Ainsworth noted that the therapy has shown “early signs of functional improvement and reductions in pain,” highlighting its potential for long-term therapeutic protein delivery.
This funding supports continued advancement of cell and gene therapy innovation, contributing to the development of novel treatment approaches within the broader life sciences ecosystem.
