ARPA-H puts up $125M to bankroll personalized RNA-based drug production
Seattle-based HDT Bio is one of five teams selected by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to share up to $125 million in funding aimed at making personalized RNA-based medicines faster and easier to produce. The funding is part of ARPA-H’s Genetic Medicines and Individualized Manufacturing for Everyone (GIVE) program.
As part of the program, HDT Bio will develop a platform that combines automated DNA synthesis, chip-based RNA production, closed fill and finish, and robotics-enabled quality control testing. The broader effort aims to address the high costs and lengthy manufacturing timelines that can limit access to personalized genetic medicines.
