Just – Evotec Biologics Advances U.S. Department of War Antibodies Against Orthopoxvirus into Phase 1 Clinical Studies

Just – Evotec Biologics has advanced JST-018, an investigational antibody treatment targeting orthopoxviruses, into a first-in-human Phase 1 clinical trial. Developed under a U.S. Department of War program, the treatment is intended to help protect against biological threats, including viruses responsible for smallpox.

Just – Evotec advanced the program from antibody selection through preclinical and process development, regulatory submission and manufacturing of the clinical trial material. The manufacturing took place at the company’s J.POD facility in Redmond, Washington, using its continuous bioprocessing platform.

The milestone puts Washington at the center of the program’s path to the clinic, with the Redmond facility supporting the manufacturing needed to move JST-018 into human trials.
