Hundreds of UW organ transplant patients celebrate gift of life
More than 1,000 transplant patients registered for UW Medicine’s second annual Transplant Celebration in Seattle, bringing together transplant recipients, donors and medical staff.
The event highlighted the experiences of patients who have received lifesaving organ transplants and the continued need for more donors. UW Medicine performed 443 organ transplants in 2025 and has already completed more than 300 in 2026, serving patients from across the region, including Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
