Bothell biotech firm plans $45 million public offering to advance smoking cessation drug

Bothell-based Achieve Life Sciences, led by CEO Richard Stewart, announced plans to raise $45 million through an underwritten public offering to advance its new treatment.

Founded in 2015, Achieve is developing a plant-based smoking cessation treatment called cytisinicline, which is partially derived from the seeds of the laburnum tree. The company has also completed a Phase 2 study of cystisinicline as a treatment to help quit vaping.

Achieve’s latest funding round further strengthens Greater Seattle’s diverse network of cutting-edge biotechnology companies.
