Seattle research nonprofit shares in up to $52 million award for AI-powered disease prevention

Research nonprofits Phenome Health and the Buck Institute have secured up to $52 million from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health. The funds will be used to support a project called Personalized Analytics for Transforming Health (PATH), which uses analytics and artificial intelligence to predict and prevent disease.

Seattle-based Phenome Health’s Chief Operations Officer, Simon Evans, states, “All of this data comes together to really give a much more global picture of an individual and helps to guide personalized medicine.”

Phenome Health’s involvement in this project further contributes to Seattle’s growing AI sector within the life sciences.
