University of Washington launches 10 new startups, with healthcare leading the way
The University of Washington’s CoMotion program announced 10 new startups built around UW-licensed technologies, with eight focused on healthcare. The companies span diagnostics, medical devices and therapeutics, reflecting the university’s continued strength in translating research into commercial ventures.
CoMotion and its earlier programs have helped launch more than 300 deep-tech companies over the past three decades, with many remaining active in Washington. Collectively, those companies have raised $1.8 billion in investment over the past five years, supporting continued growth across the state’s biotech ecosystem.
The latest startup group reflects the University of Washington’s continued role in moving scientific discoveries into new companies and reinforces Washington’s position as a leading hub for life sciences.
