SeaBridge Selects Inaugural Cohort of Eight Fellows from UW and Fred Hutch

The Brotman Baty Institute and the Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology have selected the first eight postdoctoral researchers for the SeaBridge Fellowship, a new translational research training program.

The fellows will integrate Seattle Hub cell and genome programming technologies into research projects conducted at the University of Washington or Fred Hutch Cancer Center and will receive two years of financial support along with structured career development, mentorship training, and networking opportunities. The fellowships are supported by a $10 million grant from Washington Research Foundation, with additional funding from Biohub and the UW Medicine Brotman Baty Institute. Fellows will work with mentors and choose either Entrepreneurial or Discovery tracks based on their interests.

The program strengthens Washington state’s pipeline of early career scientists trained to translate advanced cell and genome programming technologies into future biomedical innovations.
