Adaptive Signs Deal with Pfizer Worth Up to $890M for Rheumatoid Arthritis Research
Adaptive Biotechnologies announced two non-exclusive agreements with Pfizer to advance immune receptor discovery and data access. Pfizer will use Adaptive’s platform to identify disease-driving T-cell receptors in rheumatoid arthritis and license its proprietary TCR-antigen datasets to support AI-driven immunology drug discovery.
Chad Robins, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Adaptive, said that the company’s AI-enabled immune medicine platform has enabled the creation of a deeply characterized and extensive immune receptor dataset, along with enhanced insights into T-cell biology. He noted that this high-quality immune system data has the potential to drive discoveries across immunology programs and contribute to the development of next-generation therapies for rheumatoid arthritis and beyond.
Together, these agreements could significantly accelerate target identification, improve the precision of immunology therapeutics, and enable more efficient AI-driven drug development – potentially shortening timelines from discovery to the clinic and expanding treatment options for patients with autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases.
