WSU receives new $2.74M grant to support biotechnology training

Washington State University announced it has received a $2.74 million T32 training grant from the National Institute of Health to expand its innovative NIH Protein Biotechnology Training Program.

T32 grants, awarded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, a division of the NIH, are highly competitive and provide institutions with resources to train predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers in specified areas of biomedical science.

Program Director Douglas Call stated, “This renewal and expansion of the program are a testament to its past success and future potential. We’re now entering a new phase, but the core mission remains: to provide comprehensive, interdisciplinary training in protein biotechnology.”

With this new funding, Washington State University continues to strengthen the state’s reputation as a leader in research institutions, especially in the field of protein biology and therapeutics.
