Institute for Systems Biology awarded $13M to study administering cancer drugs in succession

Seattle’s Institute for Systems Biology has been awarded $13 million by the National Cancer Institute. The money will be used to lead a collaborative cancer center studying targeted therapies and immunotherapies.

Researchers will conduct the therapies through mouse models of cancer and human tissue, building computational models of the response and creating clinical trial concepts.

“There is emerging evidence that starting these therapies in specific sequences before their combination might extract the most benefits for the patients,” said ISB president Dr. Jim Heath.
