Andy Hill CARE Fund Appoints Molly O’Connor as New Executive Director
Washington state’s Andy Hill Cancer Research Endowment (CARE) Fund has appointed Molly O’Connor as its new executive director, effective September 28. O’Connor succeeds Laura Flores Cantrell, who retired after eight years, and brings 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, cancer research and collaboration.
In her new role, O’Connor will focus on strengthening collaboration among research funders and supporting promising cancer research across Washington. She previously held leadership roles at the Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research and Susan G. Komen Puget Sound.
Since its authorization in 2015, the CARE Fund has invested more than $81 million in grants and other investments supporting cancer research. This appointment brings experienced leadership to a fund that has played an important role in supporting Washington’s cancer research community, with continued investment in research aimed at improving prevention and treatment.
