Seattle ranks fourth among world’s top cities in new report

Seattle ranked No. 4 globally and No. 2 in the U.S. in Oxford Economics’ 2026 Global Cities Index, which evaluates 1,000 cities across measures including economics, human capital, quality of life, environment and governance.

Seattle earned particularly strong scores for its economy and quality of life, with the report also recognizing the city’s highly educated workforce and concentration of major companies. These qualities help make the region an attractive place for skilled professionals and growing industries.
