Dopl raises $6.3M to bring remote robotic ultrasounds to rural patients as it pursues FDA clearance
Bothell-based startup Dopl raised $6.3 million in seed funding to advance its remotely operated robotic ultrasound platform as it works toward FDA clearance. The technology allows sonographers to perform ultrasound exams remotely using robotics, haptic controls and AI, helping expand access to imaging services in rural and underserved communities.
The funding will support additional hiring, clinical evaluations and regulatory activities as the company prepares to submit its platform for FDA review. Dopl has also established partnerships with rural healthcare providers, including a Washington collaborative representing 31 critical access hospitals.
The investment shows continued growth among Washington’s digital health companies and highlights the state’s leadership in developing technologies that improve access to healthcare.
