Repligen to acquire Bothell’s BioLife Solutions in $1.5 billion deal
Bothell-based BioLife Solutions will be acquired by Massachusetts-based Repligen in a deal valued at approximately $1.5 billion. BioLife develops and supplies bio preservation media, cell-processing tools and thawing technologies used in the cell and gene therapy market.
The transaction is expected to close later this year and will combine BioLife’s cell processing portfolio with Repligen’s bioprocessing technologies, expanding capabilities across the cell and gene therapy manufacturing workflow.
This acquisition highlights the value of Washington’s life sciences companies and reinforces the state’s leadership in advancing technologies that support the growing cell and gene therapy industry.
