Scoop: Medical technology giant plans to put its longtime Seattle-area campus up for sale

Philips plans to put its longtime Bothell campus up for sale as part of a long-term real estate strategy while maintaining its healthcare operations and workforce in the Seattle area.

The company said the sale process is expected to unfold over multiple years and that it intends to secure another local site and relocate employees and operations if the property is sold. A Philips spokesperson stated, “This decision will have no impact on employee roles or employment status, or to business operations located in Bothell.” The campus has deep ties to the region’s medical technology sector through companies including ATL Ultrasound and Heartstream, which helped establish Bothell as a center for ultrasound and healthcare device innovation.

The planned transition underscores the continued evolution of one of Washington’s most significant medtech hubs while preserving the region’s role in advancing medical imaging and healthcare technologies.
