Seattle startup Arzeda raises $38M to create proteins for food, pharma, and other industries

Arzeda, a Seattle-based protein design startup, recently announced a $38 million investment round.

Specializing in creating blueprints for enzymes using protein design software, Arzeda was the first company to spin out of the lab of David Baker, the head of the University of Washington’s esteemed Institute for Protein Design (IPD), which has launched numerous successful biotech startups.

With $86 million raised to date, Arzeda is among the many IPD spinouts advancing Seattle’s growing biotech hub.
