Sana Biotechnology names its first chief scientific officer
Sana Biotechnology recently announced the appointment of Dhaval Patel as its first chief scientific officer. Previously, Patel was a professor of medicine at both the University of North Carolina and Duke University, in addition to industry experience at Novartis.
Patel expressed enthusiasm about the role, stating, “I am delighted to join Sana at this exciting time of growth. Our hypoimmune platform provides a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of science and transform the future for patients. I am eager to collaborate with this talented team to accelerate our journey towards groundbreaking advancements and real-world impact.”
Following the opening of its Bothell manufacturing facility in August, Sana plans to double its facility workforce in the coming months with the goal of employing hundreds over the next five-plus years.
