Viome Life Sciences banks $86.5M round, partners with CVS to sell at-home diagnostic tests
Viome Life Sciences, a biotech startup in the Seattle area, acquired $86.5 million in Series C funding and confirmed that its gut microbiome test will now become available in 200 CVS locations across the U.S.
Viome specializes in at-home stool testing kits, which provide users with recommendations based on their gut health, including suggestions for diet, supplements and probiotics. The tests will be sold both online and in-store at a price of $179.
“The future of medicine will be delivered at home, not at the hospital,” said Naveen Jain, entrepreneur and founder of Viome. “And the medicines of the future are going to come from a farm, not a pharmacy.”
