The top 10 best U.S. cities for STEM careers, according to new research
There are some cities in the United States better than others for STEM professionals, according to a new study by WalletHub. The study analyzed the 100 most populated U.S. metro areas in three main areas: professional opportunities, STEM-friendliness, and quality of life.
Topping the list of the best cities is Seattle, WA. The state came in first overall, ranking first in professional opportunities, 22nd in quality of life and a total score of 70.82. Seattle has been among the top three cities since 2016.
“We’ve been publishing this report every year since 2015, monitoring the STEM labor market closely. The results have not shifted too much, which might be surprising in and of itself, “said Jill Gonzalez, WalletHub analyst. “We were still expecting cities like Seattle and Boston to be among the highest ranked due to the large number of professional opportunities and their overall STEM-friendliness”
