Univ. of Washington researchers develop device to detect opioid overdose and inject antidote
A new wearable device used to detect opioid overdoses is under development at the University of Washington. The device would be able to detect an overdose and administer a life saving drug to reverse the effects of overdose upon detection.
“We are hopeful it can have a tangible impact on a big source of suffering in this country,” said corresponding author and UW professor of computer science and engineering Shyamnath Gollakota.
