BARDA Contracts Just – Evotec to Optimize Biomanufacturing of Antibodies Against Filovirus

Just – Evotec Biologics has been awarded a multi-year contract by BARDA to optimize the biomanufacturing of monoclonal antibodies targeting filovirus diseases including Ebola and Sudan virus.

The program, valued at up to $10 million, supports the development of medical countermeasures to strengthen U.S. response capabilities, particularly given the lack of approved treatments for Sudan virus. The company will apply its technology platforms to conduct molecular optimization, cell line development, and process development for two antibodies derived from survivors of the 2014 Ebola outbreak. As Linda Zuckerman, EVP, Global Head of Biotherapeutics at Just – Evotec Biologics, stated, “Our technology-driven approach is designed to deliver resilient, industry-leading high-yield production processes that can support rapid deployment in public health emergencies.”

This work highlights continued investment in scalable biologics manufacturing capabilities that are critical to advancing pandemic preparedness and therapeutic innovation across the life sciences sector.
