Allen Institute taps AWS, Google to spur ‘aha moments’ in neuroscience with new brain research platform
The Allen Institute launched the Brain Knowledge Platform, an AI-powered research tool that integrates neuroscience data from multiple species, institutions, and disease areas.
The platform, built on Amazon Web Services infrastructure with Google AI models, converts diverse datasets into a shared format using AI and enables researchers to compare information consistently across neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, which was previously difficult and time consuming. The resource is free to scientists, encourages community data sharing with attribution, and is intended to generate new insights by making large volumes of brain data more accessible.
