Gates Foundation unveils record-setting $2.5 billion initiative focused on women’s health

The Gates Foundation launched a $2.5 billion, five-year initiative focused on women’s health, supporting innovation in patient care and data collection, while aiming to catalyze additional investments.

“Investing in women’s health has a lasting impact across generations. It leads to healthier families, stronger economies, and a more just world,” said Bill Gates, chair of the Gates Foundation, in a statement.

Based in Seattle, the Gates Foundation is a cornerstone of Washington’s life sciences sector, working alongside research powerhouses like the University of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and the Allen Institute to drive scientific breakthroughs and improve patient care.
