GeekWire Awards: Health Innovation of the Year field is dominated by finalists battling cancer

LSW members Archon Biosciences, Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Talus Bioscience and Umoja Biopharma were named as finalists for GeekWire’s Health Innovation of the Year Award.

Archon Biosciences is harnessing technology developed in the Baker Lab to create novel protein structures, AbCs, and refine them with generative AI. Fred Hutch Cancer Center is a leading organization in cancer research and artificial intelligence collaboration, having launched the Cancer AI Alliance in October 2024 with other major cancer centers. Talus Bioscience developed a platform that enables the discovery of compounds that affect transcription factors. Umoja Biopharma is developing a technology that retools a patient’s immune system in vivo to generate cancer-fighting cells.

These four Seattle-based organizations showcase the cutting-edge innovation that defines Washington State’s life science sector, advancing healthcare and strengthening the region’s reputation as a global leader in biotechnology and AI innovation.
