New initiative bolsters Washington state life sciences
Three Fred Hutch Cancer Center researchers have received over $4 million in grants from the Washington Research Foundation to advance immunotherapies for Merkel cell carcinoma, osteosarcoma and solid tumor cancers.
These grants will support Dr. Aude Chapuis’ development of a novel T-cell therapy for Merkel cell carcinoma, Dr. Soheil Meshinchi’s work on a chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR T) cell therapy for osteosarcoma and Dr. Joshua Veatch’s development of a CD4 T cell to attack solid tumors.
This funding will advance Fred Hutch’s expertise in engineered adaptive immune system cells, further solidifying Seattle’s leadership in cancer research.
