Venture capital funding in Seattle area tops $1 billion in third quarter

Seattle’s venture capital market saw local startups secure $1.2 billion across 89 deals in Q3, bringing the yearly total to $2.4 billion over 269 deals.

Several large funding rounds contributed to the strong Q3 total, including $196 million by Kirkland-based Kestra Medical Technologies, $144 million for Seattle-based Outpace Bio and $130 million by Everett-based Zap Energy. Despite the national decline in U.S. venture capital deals from last year’s highs, Seattle’s venture capital market continues to show strong activity and encouraging trends.
