Report: Seattle Area Among Top 25 Fastest-Growing Markets for Life-Sciences Talent
According to CBRE’s third-annual U.S. Life Sciences Talent Trends report, the Seattle area ranks as a top market for life science graduates. The report notes a 15.1% increase in degree completions within biological and biomedical sciences between 2017 to 2022. Additionally, the report finds that the Seattle area had the 19th most graduates with biological and biomedical degrees in 2022.
In a news release, Austin Arper, vice president at CBRE’s life science practice in Seattle said, “The increase in life-sciences graduates creates a strong talent pipeline and positions the Seattle life-sciences market well for recovery in the long term. Seattle’s expertise in cell and gene therapy and robust start-up scene has rooted the market in strong fundamentals, paving the way for breakthrough research and therapies.”
The growth in talent will help continue to fuel Washington state’s $38.8 billion life science industry.
