From biotech to 3D printing, here are 7 startups that recently spun out of the Univ. of Washington
The University of Washington’s (UW) tech transfer office, CoMotion, has facilitated the creation of seven startups since July of last year. These companies, all in various stages, promote a range of biotech innovations such as neurological disorder diagnosis using smartphones (Apetur), cancer-fighting drugs (Axxis Bio) and advanced gene therapies for neuromuscular diseases (Kinea Bio, Myosana).
Since its founding in 1983, CoMotion has supported UW researchers to launch their startups and secure patents for their solutions. To date, UW has produced over 110 Pacific Northwest startups, employed more than 1,000 individuals and raised over $4.1 billion.
