BioLife Solutions raises $10.4M through private placement

BioLife Solutions Inc., a biological material storage business based in Bothell, Washington, received $10.4 million in funding from Casdin Capital, an investment firm based out of New York City. The equity, made through a private placement, gives Casdin Capital ownership over nearly 20% of BioLife Solutions’ stock.
BioLife, founded in 1987, supports the biotech market through tools that advance gene and cell therapies. The company specializes in providing storage services for biomaterials to preserve them through the development, manufacturing and distribution processes.
