Kundig-designed life science proposal lands at Interbay

A new life science building is set to be built in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood, overlooking Terminal 86 and shouldering Expedia’s headquarters.

The building is nearly 500,000 square feet and 125 feet tall. Gregory Vaughn, one of the site’s owners, plans to include three levels of lab space, five floors for R&D efforts and rooftop terraces that overlook Seattle’s downtown area.

The site owners are in the process of selecting brokers and hiring a contractor.

“I think our next step is to bring it to entitlements, but given the market conditions right now we’re kind of just slow playing that process a little bit,” Vaughn said.
