Seattle startup raises $2M to make healthcare pricing data more transparent

Seattle-based startup Cascade Health raised $2 million in a pre-seed funding round to help boost its AI-powered software. The company’s software aims to increase healthcare pricing transparency and makes navigating pricing information easier by using public data from hospitals and insurance companies.

Co-founders Ana-Maria Constantin and Pulak Goyal started the company after noticing a trend in healthcare pricing transparency and new laws passed in 2021 and 2022 requiring hospitals and insurance companies to disclose pricing information.

Although the pricing is public, it cannot be opened by a home computer or cloud machine alone. This is where Cascade came in to provide AI systems that aggregate the data in real time, transforming it into a readable and easily navigable tool.
