Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center opens $320M campus addition

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center revealed a $320 million clinic expansion in South Lake Union to fuel continued growth and work in cancer breakthroughs.

The six-story, 150,000-square-foot center will start operations this week and expects to fill the building by the end of June. In addition to the new building, Fred Hutch plans to build a 390,000-square-foot research center with a $710 million donation from Mike and Jackie Bezos.

“To see the vision fully realized is a testament to the dedication to those who made it come to life, including patients, physicians, nurses and support staff. Without them we could not have achieved this important milestone,” said Dr. Nancy Davidson, executive vice president of clinical affairs. “The expansion of Fred Hutch’s South Lake Union Campus will allow our organization to continue to bolster our breakthrough ways in which patients receive their care.”
