Biotech giant Moderna will open tech office in Seattle, plans to hire up to 220 workers

Moderna wants to tap Seattle’s pool of talent, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company announced last week.

It is opening an office on April 4 with plans to hire up to 220 workers. The new facility will focus on AI, cloud-based software, and other technology applications in the life science industry, and it will support operations from finance to human resources.

“We are in a significant growth phase and we are willing to go where the talent is,” said Brad Miller, Moderna’s chief information officer. Miller has previously worked at Seattle-area tech giants Amazon and Microsoft.
