Seattle startup that sells air purification tech powered by ultraviolet light raises $2.3M

Violett, a Seattle-based startup specializing in ultraviolet light air purification technology, has raised $2.3 million in a seed funding round led by Tacoma Venture Fund.

The company creates hospital-grade air purification units effective against COVID-19 by disinfecting air in a single pass after maximizing UVC exposure. The new funding will help identify opportunities to aid vulnerable populations, scale manufacturing, build a mobile app and expand their team.

“People are now realizing COVID-19 is something we may be living with forever in some capacity, and passive air disinfection solutions might be a required step to get back to a sense of normalcy we all want,” said CEO Branden Doyle. “Customers have been more eager to try our product over time, as the pandemic has lingered on.”
